Robert A. Sargent Founding Partner

Bob joined JM & Company in 1984 and is one of the three founding partners. For twelve years, he helped JM & Company evolve into a premier search firm in the manufacturing sector (chemicals, plastics, packaging). Primary responsibilities include executive leadership and strategic direction within JM & Company and senior level search work.

In 1996, Bob co-led the company’s venture into technology. Partnering with private equity and venture firms, Bob works closely with portfolio company Boards to build out senior leadership teams in start up, early and mid stage businesses. Venture clients include: Polaris Venture Partners, Longworth Venture Partners, JMI Equity, Internet Capital Group, Inverness Capital Partners, New Spring Capital, Harbourvest Partners, and Cross Atlantic Partners.

Bob has a Bachelor of Science, in Economics, from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was an All American lacrosse player. He, his wife and three children reside in Malvern, PA.
